Decemberists

On May 5th the Decemberists came to Western. They played in Red Square, a large area surrounded by buildings and centered with a fountain. After standing in line for forty five minutes, they tore my ticket ushered my in and then immediately kicked my out. I had my camera bag. OH NO! SCANDAL! Apparently it is against Western's policy to allow bags into AS concerts. I might of hollowed out a lens and could be smuggling alcohol. They sent me away to "drop off the bag" somewhere. On my return they wouldn't let me back in. my ticket was torn. After about 30 minutes it was all straightened out with the AS coordinator David Westbrook and I was allowed to bring my camera in.

I started shooting and was immediately tackled by the head of security who had it in his mind that there was some contract with the band that outlawed photography. After talking to the AS person again and explaining how the group supporting the concert was payed to teach me photography everything was settled.
